DECLARATIONS
What people
have to say about Gaylord and CAS:
It
is with great pleasure that I write this letter
of recommendation for Mr. Gaylord Parsons. Mr. Parsons
has been an integral part of the Rockstone Foundation's
Urban-American Filmmakers Workshop.
He
has served in the capacity of an acting instructor
for our touring workshop series. His intelligence,
talent, enthusiasm, and his ability to connect with
the actors have led us to ask him back repeatedly.
His classes always receive rave reviews from our
attendees.
We
are very fortunate to have connected with Mr. Parsons
as he brings a wealth of knowledge of the craft
and delivers it in a positive way that has a profound
impact on those he teaches.
Sincerely,
-
Camille Irons, President & Executive Director
Urban American
Filmmakers Workshop

Dear
Gaylord,
I
wanted to thank you for the incredible (no pun intended)
opportunity to work with you on the film Incredible.
I've done 7 films and dozens of commercials in the
past year since working the Atlanta market. And
I must say no director/writer/actor/ musician has
come within miles of touching your talent and intelligence.
I am a better actor for having for been under your
direction and care.
You
are a very rare breed indeed. Perhaps the most impressive
aspect of your creative genius is your ability to
wear several hats at once on a film set. While never
compromising the integrity of the project you catch
even the smallest details. Most directors would
easily miss such details if given the same level
of responsibility and accountability you so willingly
and eagerly embraced over and over again.
In
fact, the more I think about it you were so damn
good that at times I questioned whether you were
human or some sort of Film God. At any rate, I'm
very clear that fame and fortune are just around
the bend for you. And I must say - you will definitely
make Cinematic History!!!
I
only hope to have the privilege of working in a
partnership and standing alongside such brilliance
again. My love to you and may you prosper and grow
always.
-
Love, Jenna Cavelle

Dear
Gaylord,
I
just wanted to take the opportunity to tell how
much the course material at Celebrity Actors Studio
has helped me be prepared for any and everything
I have faced on auditions and even on the set
of the last movie I was in "Camp DOA".
Things that you cover in class are not simply
theory and pie in the sky, they are real world
things that competent casting directors, directors
and agents all will fully expect actors to show
up knowing how to do and be able to do them at
a very high level. While I have not been acting
very long (I came to CAS back in August of 2003)
on every single audition I have gone on and every
movie or play I have been in, I have worked with
actors/actresses who have in many cases 5, 10
and even 15 years of experience, and without exception
they are all amazed that I have been acting/studying
for only 7 months. Without a doubt that is the
direct result of your training, and level of care
you put into each of your students. So this is
just a note to say "Thank You".
Sincerely,
- John A Nicholson

To
future CAS members,
I have studied at
the Celebrity Actor's Studio for more than a year.
Gaylord Parsons has been a very valuable asset to
my professional growth as a thespian. Gaylord possesses
the tools that are needed for actors to unlock the
energy that every human being has within their life
force. Being able to instill that ability in your
students is truly phenomenal. I know that I am a part
of something that will stand the test of time in this
craft.
I encourage anyone
that wants to study acting to search out that teacher
who pushes you to become more than you ever dreamed
you could become. The motto at CAS is, "Don't study
a method, study yourself." Gaylord allows you to become
deeply entrenched learning and delving into your own
psyche.

It's been almost 4
months that I am studying with Mr.
Gaylord Parsons. I have to say on my first day of
class I came out of there with so much
information, that I wanted you go back in and learn
some more. Before auditioning for his class, a student
that was in his class before told me that how great Mr.
Parson is. He told me that Mr. parson would not leave me
leave his class until I understand what he is trying
to bring across. I had the privilege of witnessing
that. He brought emotions out of me that I thought I
never had. Before attending Celebrity Actors Studio I
was not confident of my talent, but Mr. Parson has let
me know I am a great actor and I deserve to be
heard. And that I should touch the world with my
talent. Now I'm more confident when I go to audition
and less nervous. I thank you Gaylord and I hope we
make history together.
Thank you,
Wendell

As a student of
the Celebrity Actor's Studio taught by director
/ actor Gaylord Parsons, I can truly say that I
have had the opportunity to study with the best.
Noted for his commitment to excellence as well as
his passion and utmost respect for the craft of
acting and directing, Gaylord has been a joy to
work for.
I began my theatre
& film career working with such noted actors
as Howard Rollins from "In the Heat of the Night,"
and Gaylord has helped me to further enhance my
skills in script analysis, scene study, and emotional
dynamics. He has also helped me to gain a newfound
passion for my craft and always encourages students
in the Celebrity Actor's Studio as we study the
craft of acting to also continuously study ourselves!
It's been a joy
working with him. He ALWAYS keeps me on my
toes!

Last
weekend we wrapped "What Your Dreams Mean",
and I just wanted to say thank you for making
it the most enjoyable acting experience I have
ever had. You are a phenomenal director. It has
been said that an actor's talent is often dependent
on the talent of the director, and in this case,
I know it is certainly true. The scenes in the
films were powerful, dramatic, and gut-wrenching.
The emotions we had to bring to the scenes were
deep, yet ephemeral. You knew just when we had
reached our emotional peaks, and you quickly capitalized
on those moments, so smoothly and effectively.
You never jeopardized losing your actors concentration
or emotion.Of
the eight films in which I have acted, I can say
without doubt that this was the best directing
I have encountered. Your direction made me both
comfortable and capable. Thank you for an amazing
experience. You are a brilliant director, and
I would be honored to have the opportunity to
work with you again.

Gaylord
is one of the most articulate, intelligent and adroit
artists I have ever met. He is not only a talented
actor but an accomplished filmmaker and musician as
well. In addition, his moral character is of the finest
anywhere in any profession.

Gaylord,
It is an honor to be
guided in the right direction by such an esoteric
actor & leader. As always Great Class.

Dear
Gaylord,
I'm
writing this letter just to let you know how much
I appreciate your acting skills. I have been studying
with you for about four months now, and I can see
how much progress I have made since then. I know
in my heart that I am a great actress, but it took
someone like you, coaching me and developing me
to astronomical limits in such a short amount of
time, to prove to myself that I can one day actually
see myself on the "big screen".
In
a few years, I hope you look back at this
letter and smile, because you are truly the greatest
acting coach I have ever studied with.
Sincerely,
-

Dear
Gaylord,
Thanks so much for
allowing us to observe your recent acting class. It
was truly a pleasure to see such excellence &
discipline. Your unique teaching style is definitely
cutting edge in the industry.
We are very excited
& honored to have you come critique our upcoming
rehearsal. My Wife & I realize that in order to
take our current production to new dimensions, it
would be wise to seek counsel from another professional
in the field.
Let's continue to
build a working relationship so that we can impact
more people.
In Excellence,

Thank
God for Gaylord. When I met him it seemed as if I
had met a "soul mate" acting coach. It was not just
the hours of coaching, but the countless notes of
inspiration that he gave. I was able to discover broad
methods of diverse characterization.
I was very privileged
to have found someone as gifted as Gaylord to enhance
my acting craft, by blending traditional techniques
with innovative ideas. Also having the privilege to
work with him on the film set, I found another treasure
in him, directing. I've seen Gaylord inspire myself
and other actors to discover a pathos and sensitivity
that would otherwise remain hidden. You are a sensational
director Gaylord.
Please continue and
keep up the fantastic work.

Dear Gaylord Parsons:
I consider myself privileged to have been introduced to
you and your institution. Though I have only been
studying with you for a relatively short period of time
I have grasped onto so much through your method of
teaching. You have a way of making sure that everyone is
focused and alert and taking it all in so to speak. I
have seen others flourish in your class, within our
city, and other cities doing major things. You instill a
desire in your actors to be the greatest and to make
sure we are heard. I look forward to continuing my study
with you and the others who are doing well in your
class. I also look forward to your continued success in
your own personal career in conjunction with the boost
you give to the careers of others. Thanks again for
bestowing this opportunity upon me.
Sincerely,
Monique N. Blatch
Hi Gaylord, this is
CaSandra. I know that I told you that I was going to
send this a week ago, but I have had some computer
issues... anyway, I just wanted to remind you that I
will still be going out of town (to California) from
April 6-14, but like we discussed on the phone, I will
take the photos with the photographer here in Atlanta at
the end of April. That is when I am sure that I will be
financially able. (Please tell me his name again so I
can look him up- you said that all of the agencies here
loved his work) Until then, I do have some photos that I
want you to look at, advising me if I should use those
in the meantime. Anyway, I wanted to leave you positive
comments for you to review and possibly put on your web
page. I have enjoyed the class thus far and am more than
flattered to leave positive notes about it:
Gaylord Parsons, instructor of Celebrity Actors Studio
is a superb acting coach. He goes beyond the
fundamentals of acting, and takes you into numerous
lessons, improves, and cold readings that assist the
actor in reaching truth. I can honestly say that I have
learned more about myself and my capabilities while
taking his course. He is personally concerned for each
students' growth, which is displayed by the outreach
that he gives, beginning with mastering the monologue(
and other audition techniques) and continuing throughout
to getting an agent and landing an audition. The classes
are extensive, detailed, and require total dedication
and hard work. I strongly advise only determined and
serious minded individuals to audition.
Gaylord Parsons gives you complete acting tools and
guidelines which will prepare you to succeed with the
most qualified, prestigious actors throughout the
country!
I am so glad to have the opportunity to learn from him!
**** and I meant every word of it!
love, CaSandra
Gaylord:
I just wanted to drop you a few lines to simply say
thanks. For the
past
six months that I have been participating in your class,
I have
experienced
tremendous growth. By applying your teachings and
principles I know I
will
go far....thanks again.

Hey, Gaylord this is
Terrance Parham. I just wanted to say thank you for all
the insight you have provided me with. I have taking
several months of acting classes at the Alliance Theatre
and none of them come close to what I have learned from
you in just a few weeks. You are trully a blessing to
this business as well as to me and I am honored to be in
your class. I look forward to picking your brain and
just soaking up all the knowledge you have about this
craft of acting. Again I just wanted to say thank you
and I cannot wait til next week to see what else we will
be doing and getting closer to become the best actor I
can possibly be. With alot of help from you of course!
It is so cool to see someone who is as passionate and
dedicated to acting as you are and that you are willing
to share what you know. Thanks
Terrance Parham.
I would just like to
say that through my experience
with acting techniques from Mr. Parsons, he has taught
me a few of the little things that matter the most
when it comes to auditioning. He teaches things in a
way that you will understand even if they are complex.
He has been a very influential person in my young
acting career and I will continue to seek his
knowledge in our craft.
Here you go Gaylord, Take care.
Jerrod Paige
It has been a complete
pleasure working with such an charismatic and
dedicated acting instructor. I Have only been in
Gaylord's
intermediate >acting class for two weeks now and every
time I mention his name I get a positive feedback.
I have been to various acting classes and no one has
>cared and actually taken personal time out to help be
perfect my craft. I know that I will have a very
successful future thanks to Gaylord expertise guidance
and wisdom. I only regret that I would have met him
sooner.
This the best class ever. Thank you so much Gaylord.
Yours truly CAS member Taqiyyah Holloway
I
am currently enrolled in Gaylord Parsons C A S classes.
If you ever live in Atlanta, GA and need a wonderful
patient acting coach, I highly recommend Gaylord

Gaylord: Well G. first of all I would like to thank you for believing in me personally and pushing me to be the greatest; even though we’re not done yet. Celebrity Actors Studio has been a tremendous blessing to my career. You taught me to set the bar and set it high. All of the techniques about the craft and how to use them are beyond measure. I will cherish your teaching for the rest of my life. Not only a wonderful teacher you are, you’re a great inspiration and that my friend is the heart of God. In two years you’ve cut, shape, and molded me, and now I’m ready to run with the best of the best. I feel like a navy seal ready for combat. I WILL BRING IT HOME because before I go in I know I’ve already won. I’m so grateful that God granted me with such a talented coach that’s willing to share so much knowledge and go beyond the call of duty to drive me and many others to success. May he continue to touch your heart. DEXTER TILLIS

My name is Desiree Prince and i am a student at the Celebrity Actors Studio where Gaylord Parsons is my coach. I met Gaylord at a networking event right after i made the decision to seriously pursue acting. In the short time I have been dealing with him he has shown me so much and if i ever questioned what my talents are he is the one that has allowed me to see them. His ways of teaching are phenomenal and with the amount of talent he holds and extreme passion for what he has for what he does you can only respect him. Gaylord is a perfectionist and a pleasant spirit. He has the ability to make an individual feel like anything is possible, if they dont already know it. It is a great blessing to study acting under him and im confident in knowing that he will not hold back. I know that he is an outstanding asset to anything he is apart of, will perform any task to the highest of his ability. Sincerely, DESIREE PRINCE |
